Path of TeleBlock® Call -

1. A proprietary web-based user interface is created for each TeleBlock® subscriber for database administration purposes.

2. All available federal, state and wireless DNC lists are secured and automatically updated according to mandated update intervals.

3. Information such as allow list data, in-house DNC list data, the individual state and ported wireless DNC lists to screen against, the federal DNC registry NPAs to screen against, etc. is sent to the TeleBlock® application by the subscriber via their web-based user interface.

4. All DNC data is compiled via the web-based user interface and sent as incremental data files to the TeleBlock® database.

5. The TeleBlock® database resides on VeriSign®’s redundantly located Advanced Transaction Look-Up And Signaling (ATLAS™) system, “Do-Not-Call Platform”, which is accessible via both SS7 and IP technologies. SS7 versus IP type query depends on the participating telephone carrier’s network structure.

6. Calls originate from the end-user telemarketer’s calling equipment and ride available telephone line and trunk group facilities to the participating telephone carrier’s serving Central Office (C.O.) switch.

7. The physical calls are held at the C.O., while a SS7/IP call information packet containing an originating number and terminating (dialed) number pair goes off to the TeleBlock® platforms for a database look-up. Based upon the ANI (telephone number) or AUTH Code (trunk group) calls originate from, the corresponding client specific database is queried. The terminating number is screened against the corresponding DNC database based upon the campaign applied to the originating telephone line or trunk group at that point in time.

8. If the terminating number does not appear in the applied DNC database campaign, then a TeleBlock® look-up response is routed back to the C.O., where a call is physically held, with a ‘Continue’ message. A ‘Continue’ message triggers a call to go off to its final destination, or called party.

9. If the dialed number appears in the applied DNC database campaign, then a TeleBlock® look-up response is routed back to the C.O., where a call is physically held, instructing call to either route to a pre-determined switch based announcement or to reorginate call to a pre-determined 10 digit telephone number. The caller or calling equipment will hear a ‘restricted number’ message based upon messaging option selected, and dispose of the call accordingly. ‘Restricted number’ message options are unlimited. Some of the options are as follows:

  • Standard Bell Core Special Information Tone (SIT), or tritone, header with trailer containing DNC blocked call verbiage
  • TeleBlock® unique tritone header for the identifiable disposal of a DNC blocked call within a predictive dialer environment with trailer containing DNC blocked call verbiage
  • Company specific DNC blocked call verbiage
  • Call forward a DNC blocked call to pre-determined individual, department or Interactive Voice Response (IVR) unit with a set of voice prompts.
  • Etc.
