30, 2001: Call Compliance, the foremost provider of compliance solutions
has been granted a US Patent for Teleblock – an SS7 network
based Do-Not-Call service, which blocks outbound calls to numbers
on state mandated, proprietary and third party do-not-call lists.
SIT tones are embedded in Teleblock’s “restricted number
recording” for predictive dialers. Currently, Call Compliance
does not charge for its Teleblock service.
With this pioneering
service, companies are able to comply and adhere to do-not-call
and do-not-fax rules effortlessly. Teleblock screens outgoing calls
through the telephone carriers network connected to the company’s
telephone lines or circuits. If a number appears on the do-not-call
list, the call is blocked and a “restricted” number
recording is played. Telemarketers administer their own database
through Call Compliance’s web based interface. As part of
its service, Call Compliance supports the cumbersome task of obtaining
and managing the various state lists.
Since Teleblock’s
service is offered through telephone carriers there is no need for
additional hardware or software. “Participating telephone
companies can offer TeleBlock to their customers as they would any
other value-added service such as Calling Cards or Audio Teleconferencing”
said Stefan E. Dunigan, Call Compliance’s Vice President of

receives over two telemarketing calls a day making do-not-call one

were adopted in 1991 by the FCC followed by the FTC in 1994. Years
later, States began adopting state run do-not-call lists. Now, with
well over five million do-not-call numbers in more than twenty-five
States; fines have increased markedly, violations are more evident
than ever and states are adding new, far more strict telemarketing
rules to calm the cries of their consumers. “Failure to comply
