PRODUCTS FROM CALL COMPLIANCE.COM, INC.; PROVIDE
"DO NOT CALL" COMPLIANCE FOR TELEMARKETERS; PROTECT
CONSUMERS FROM UNWANTED SALES CALLS
CCI
Announces New Proprietary Products, Connection Agreement with
Telco Communications and Easy Web Access to Ensure Compliance
Glen Cove, New York - March 30, 1999 - Call Compliance.com, Inc. (CCI),
announced the first suite of software solutions that allow telemarketers
to automatically block phone and fax numbers of individuals and
businesses on "do-not-call" lists. The new technologies provide
relief for consumers from unwanted sales calls, while helping ensure
regulatory and statutory compliance for telemarketing companies.
"Now,
for the first time, telemarketing operations have the means to comply
with stiffening government regulations. Firms will not only save
on legal and regulatory costs, but gain a significantly greater
return on their telemarketing investment," says Alison Garfinkel,
president of CCI. The service will block unwanted calls and faxes
made by telemarketers who subscribe to CCI. "Consumers demand and
deserve a right to their privacy. At the same time, telemarketers
don't want to waste money or time calling customers who will be
unresponsive. We've answered both challenges with products that
are available at virtually no cost to the telemarketing firm." Further,
CCI's products are the first on the market that enable telemarketers
to comply with SEC, NASD, Federal and State regulations, thereby
avoiding potentially damaging fines, closures and compliance costs.
TeleblockSM
Automated Blocking Service
Teleblock,
the first product to be developed and marketed by CCI, is an automated
blocking service that enables telemarketing companies to have phone
calls blocked to all individuals and businesses listed on a telemarketer's
proprietary "do-not-call" list, CCI's in-house list and third-party
lists provided by states and other sources. The
new technology is first available to businesses through an agreement
between CCI and Telco Communications, Inc. Group, which is a subsidiary
of Teleglobe, Inc., one of the largest providers of telecommunications
services in the United States. To
get the Teleblock service, all companies have to do is sign-up with
a long distance carrier who has a connection agreement with CCI.
Teleblock is then provided at virtually no additional cost. There
is no hardware or software required, just Internet access for selecting
the database of lists. An
important feature of CCI's software application is its ability to
enable geographically dispersed offices and locations of a company
to block "do-not-call" numbers. Notes Garfinkel, "Now national operations
with many offices can keep in total compliance through the parent
company's use of Teleblock, all managed through one Internet-based
entry screen."
TelestopTM
New Service Provides Direct Consumer Sign-Up To "Do Not Call" Lists
For
consumers and other end-users, CCI has introduced Telestop, a subscription
service that allows individuals and businesses to add their telephone
numbers to CCI's "do-not-call" database of telephone, modem and
fax numbers at a nominal cost. Individuals simply sign up at the
CallCompliance.com Web site (or by calling the CCI Hotline at 1-888-674-6774),
and are automatically included in CCI's "do not call" list provided
to all telemarketers and other telephone/fax solicitors who use
CCI's Teleblock service. "At
last, consumers and businesses have the means to protect themselves
from the kinds of calls or faxes they do not want to receive. Consumer
advocates have been calling for greater protection and privacy.
Garfinkel continues, "There also are a variety of federal, state
and industry-specific rules and regulations being enforced, but
until now there has been no effective way for telemarketers to access
and automatically block "do-not-call" lists to comply with the laws."
These laws include SEC and NASD regulations for financial services
firms and FCC enforcement of such laws as the Telemarketing and
Consumer Protection Act of 1991. Concludes Garfinkel, "CCI's new
software solutions will provide an unrivaled benefit to consumers
and telemarketers who utilize these products, and a positive step
in addressing consumer concerns with telemarketing practices."
